The Heart Beat Rate app uses your smartphone camera as a heart rate monitor.

Thanks to an innovative image analysis process which tracks your blood flow in real-time, it gives a direct and reliable measurement of your heart rate.

All you have to do is cover the whole camera lens with your index tip, and the application will compute your heart rate in real-time while displaying the pulse signal in a graph.

I got the premium version and the ads went away, its a miracle!
The two biggest problems I have are damp finger tips and holding finger very steady. Both a fundamental part of exercising. But with care and practice it works a good 90% of the time.
Very handy tool to track your heart rate. I use it every morning to check my resting heart rate. Tracks and graphs results so you can see your progress. Recommended.

Some bad moments

I am liking the convenience of this download. I am not able to get reads while working out for some reason. The built in monitor on the elliptical registers upwards of 30 points higher than app. I stop, wipe my hand from any moisture and begin. Detects but, more often than not, indicates fail. After three times my heart rate has dropped too much. Rarely have problem on resting phase. Not sure what is going on. Thank you for providing the basics on this application.
Awesome little app to monitor your heart beat. Fast and simple, and it keeps a log for you to check back and see your heart rate trends. I wish this had more features or information inside the app. Perhaps more info on decreasing heart rates, irregular beats etc. Otherwise this is a very good app.
This app is very helpful in keeping track of my HR. I have A-Fib and lately it has started dropping down below 60 beats per minute. Again it is helpful in tracking my heart rate.

This app DOES NOT WORK. It gives calibration failed errors and when it does read the heRtbeT, jt still says - average heart rate not determined. FIX THIS APP. People paid for if. Of a refund should be given. Thank you
